Call for Satellite Conference Centers

Dear Colleagues,

The 2027 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA 2027) will take place in Seoul, South Korea, from 24–28 May 2027 (https://2027.ieee-icra.org).

In recent years, Satellite Conference Centers have enabled robotics communities worldwide to
participate in IEEE robotics conferences by providing access to live-streamed plenary and keynote talks.

For ICRA 2027, we would like to take this initiative a step further! We are inviting IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) Sections and Chapters worldwide to organize local Satellite Conferences alongside ICRA 2027, creating opportunities for their robotics communities to present research, exchange ideas and engage.

Rather than simply hosting streamed sessions, we encourage each Satellite Conference Centre to organize its own local or national robotics conference, including a call for papers, technical presentations and networking activities. These events should take place during 24-28 May 2027 and will be enriched by access to keynote and plenary presentations streamed from ICRA in Seoul.

What support will be provided:

• Funding of up to US$50,000, distributed among 3-6 Satellite Conference Centers organizing full
local robotics conferences with their own technical paper programs.
• Organizers of the selected funded Satellite Conference Centers will join ICRA Organizing
  Committee meetings.
• Access to ICRA 2027 plenary and keynote streams during 24-28 May 2027.

Who can apply:

• We welcome applications from universities, research centers and IEEE RAS Sections and Chapters worldwide.
• Financial support is available for centers located in low- and middle-income countries (a list can be found here: https://www.oecd.org/en/topics/sub-issues/oda-eligibility-and-conditions/dac-list-of-oda-recipients.html).
• Centers in other countries are also encouraged to participate. While financial support will not be available, we will provide access to ICRA 2027 plenary and keynote streams.

How to apply:

• Please refer to the attached guidelines for further information on organizing a Satellite Conference Centre.
• Please register your interest in hosting a funded or non-funded Satellite Conference Centre
through the ICRA 2027 Satellite Conference Centre portal

* The guidelines and application link will be available soon.

Important dates:

• Application deadline: Nov 10, 2026
• Notification of outcomes: by Nov 15, 2026
• Satellite Conferences: May 24–28, 2027

We see this as an exciting opportunity to bring ICRA closer to robotics communities around the world, support local research activities, and strengthen connections across the global robotics community.

We very much hope you will join us in making ICRA 2027 a truly global event!

Best regards,

The ICRA’27 Satellite Conference Center Chairs.
